French style
Everything in this bedroom from Annie's house in Normandy is chalk paint. Walls, bed, floors - even curtains!
Annie painted everything in this elegant bedroom in her country house in France. The bed was painted using a traditional wax resist technique - see more here. The Toile de Jouy Rococo chair and reclaimed door mirror are gilded using gold sizing and brass leaf for a unified vintage look, showcasing their ornate wood carvings.
The floors and walls are painted Old White, and the bedside tables were painted very thick to give them a rustic, shabby finish. The curtains are made from old French linen and chalk painted Aubusson Blue.
Each item shown is included in Annie's book, Color Recipes for Painted Furniture and More, where you'll find step-by-step instructions that you can easy to observe at home. Published by CICO. Photo by Christopher Drake.
